Today, Esoteric announced the Grandioso E1, a phono equalizer compatible with optical cartridges, which comes standard with an optical cartridge input. 

Our primary goal is to transform optical cartridges from “unique” to “popular” products. This goal is of utmost importance to us. We are not focused on immediate sales but rather on what is necessary to achieve this long-term objective.

From this perspective, it is clear that receiving support from other companies to add diversity to our equalizers is the right path. Initially, it was uncertain whether other companies would support optical cartridges, which were exclusively manufactured by DS Audio. However, now there are 12 products from 9 brands on the market that are compatible with optical cartridges. In a few months, AudioGroupDenmark (Aavik brand) will also release a phono equalizer compatible with optical cartridges. Additionally, several other brands are expected to release similar products by the end of 2024.

I strongly feel that optical cartridges are becoming more appealing to customers as various brands showcase their unique benefits with innovative ideas.

I never imagined this level of expansion, but I am now confident that my decision to release the phono equalizer circuit was the right one.

While I am thrilled that we are getting closer to making optical cartridges popular, I also feel a strong sense of responsibility as the only manufacturer of optical cartridges. We will continue to work diligently to meet the expectations of our customers and the manufacturers who have adopted our optical cartridge-compatible products.
